A low-protein diet plan is not an ordinary diet plan. It is not made for every person, and it is not used for weight loss purposes.

A low-protein diet plan is applicable in the condition of the inappropriate function of the kidney, liver syndrome, and metabolic issues.

What is a low-protein diet plan? 

A healthy person requires 10 percent to 15 percent calories from protein per day, or it depends on a person’s workout level. The amount of protein needed is 20 to 50 grams of protein in a whole day, which is equalwhich4 to 8 percent of the daily calories intake. Protein is essential for health and our body’s process. It plays a critical role in the betterment of metabolism. It helps in weight maintenance. This diet plan is very effective if the person suffers from any clinical illness.

The people who are suffering from PKU (phenylketonuria) metabolic syndrome, maple syrup urinary problems, kidney disease, uric acid, and liver disease, this diet plan is followed under the physician’s supervision.

This diet plan provides the rest to your kidneys and prohibits harmful build-up in the person’s body. If the use of protein amounts is increased from the need of daily limit, then the extra quantity of protein is metabolized through the liver to generate urea which is the cause of burden on the kidneys.

Food consisting of a high protein level, such as animal protein, affects protein metabolism and puts pressure on the body’s organs

Low-protein food is good for our health; here is the list of these foods.

Vegetables 

Carrot, beetroot, reddish, turnip, scallions, pumpkin, green, reddish, kale, and parsnip.

Starches

Pasta, cereals, bread, muffin, rice cake, noodles, popcorn, bagel, and croissants.

Fruits

Apple, banana, papaya, melon, peach, plum, grapes, oranges, lemon, lime, grapefruit, dried fruits, fruit juice, and frozen or canned fruit.

Oils

Butter, margarine, mayonnaise, vegetable oil, and olive oil.

Sugars 

Candies, cake, marshmallows, lollipops, and granola bars.

Juices

 Green tea, non-dairy beverages, soda, and water.

Sauces

Vinegar, garlic powdered, onion powdered, fresh and dried herbs, and pepper. 

Dairy product 

Dairy protein consists of milk, pudding, cream cheese, sour cream, and yogurt.

Meat Protein 

 Fish, meat, and eggs.

Foods not to eat 

  • Tartar sauce, Meat tenderizers, Ketchup
  • Cooking wine, Soy sauce, Steak sauce, Barbecue sauce, Chili sauce
  • Seasoned salt and Sea salt.

It wil help if you avoid the intake of a high amount of sodium and sugary food.
